Our Approach
Our Mission
Pillars & Plants Inc. was created to provide life skills that are not learned during traditional education for adolescents of color from 14-17 years of age. Our goal is to build self confidence and morale through a series of courses ranging from spiritual growth to financial wealth. We focus on the importance of community engagement, mental health, domestic values, critical thinking, educational goal training, and finical literacy. Through our program adolescents are allotted the opportunity for growth and scholarship. With mentor guidance our young ladies fall under the Everyday Dolls curriculum, while our young men follow the pathway to manhood under Essence of Men. These year round programs mold our youth into the leaders of tomorrow.

Chelsea Bates
Founder & CEO
Chelsea D. Bates, an entrepreneur, community leader, Miss Black Texas Coed 2016, and a Desoto, Texas native created the vision of molding adolescents into well rounded future leaders through life skills in collaboration with traditional education. A Texas Southern University graduate, Chelsea was inspired by the speeches of pastor and motivational speaker Wendi J. Turner. While attending
one of Mrs. Turner’s speeches, Chelsea realized that human mind is the strongest and most complex creation ever made and that a human mind filled with knowledge, confidence, and purpose is even stronger. She felt as if the best way to make a strong adult was to start building a strong adolescents. Her individual mentoring for the past 10+ years, B.A.in psychology, and Masters in Counseling has given her the tools she once needed as a young lady herself. She is now in hopes of continuing her legacy by embracing and empowering adolescents in her local community and throughout the country.
